but finals still lay around the corner, fun stuff! *sarcasm* (as if u didn't catch the sarcasm... haha)

This vlog was kind of on the long side, but still enjoyable to watch :)

Whiter Than Snow

Ok Ladies and Gentlemen, get ready for something you rarely seen on my blog. A SERIOUS post. Yes, that's right, not a funny video, not a joke paragraph, a serious blog post.

I really believe God showed me something this morning and I just wanted to share it. I hope I can put it down into words like I want to. (this post may show how much I think like my dad lol)

On Sunday mornings I go out early to Gary, Indiana to knock on our bus kids doors to make sure they are up when the bus comes by. So I am in the car, listening to one of Mr. Schrock's (My Bus captain) tapes that he has in his car. I believe it was the SMS Quartet, but I'm not totally sure. In the song I was listening to (I don't even remember the name of the song) the statement was made: "whiter than snow" This naturally made me start to think of "(Psa 51:7)  Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow." As I began to think about that, I looked at the snow on the ground and thought to myself "What in the world is whiter than snow?!... It's so...WHITE! How can there be anything more white than snow?" (Get ready for the part where I think like my dad) Then it sort of hit me. What is whiter than snow? one word crossed my mind. ....Clear.... Now I know it might sound weird or strange, but I kept thinking about it. After we are saved, and we are cleaned from our sin, what does God see when he looks at us? He does not see our sin, he sees a Child of God. In order for us to become Christians, we need to become "clear". If we as Christians want to keep a good relationship with God, we can not have sin in our lives, we have to be washed "whiter than snow", so that God can make us "see through" so he doesn't see the rotten sinner that we are.. When God looks at us, he doesn't see the sin. Because we are "see through", or "clear" all he sees is Jesus.

I just wanted to share that, it really blessed my in a special way. I may have taken out of context and of course that isn't the "true" meaning of being cleansed "whiter than snow" but it was still a blessing to me. I was getting chills in the car as I pondered all these thoughts. Then again... it was pretty cold today :)

School resumes on Tuesday and my parents are on their way back to NY early on Monday, so Monday is project/English test day... yuck

Time to get back into the swing of school for a few more weeks before Christmas break. But first, Christmas Lights! yay! :) The young lady that my sister introduces on the video with a drum roll is the unlucky girl that gets to go with me to Christmas Lights :)

I got a lot done today. My biggest project this semester is basically done, I have to do a couple touch ups then write a 1 page explanation paper on some passage in John. I finished my English homework for Tuesday. Now I just have to study hard for my New Testament test on Monday :)

It's kind of funny cause every time we make a video I think of about 3 things we could have talked about that I didn't even think of. One of them being the weird dream I had last night. So I might as well just type it out.

So here I was in my dream, we were at a garage sale and there was some big mystery to solve. I don't really remember what the mystery was, but my parents put me in charge of figuring out the mystery. So I was looking at through this garage sale, and come to find out all they sold was barbie dolls... I was looking for some kind of paper but never found it... and then I woke up. Where is Daniel or Joseph when you need them? I wonder if they have cell phones up in heaven... doubtful lol
I suppose the moral of the dream would have to be: Don't go to garage sales where they only sell barbie dolls if you want to solve a mystery...

The other things we didn't mention in the vlog was that we have Monday and Tuesday off of school. Monday is a college work "party" where we prepare for empowered youth, and get things ready it. Then Tuesday is election day where we poll watch basically all day.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I'm sure everyone is doing well at home. Less then 2 months and I'll be home for Christmas break, crazy stuff. Jacob and I were talking about when we first got here it seemed like we were here forever, but as school got underway things started to speed up and they haven't slowed down since! It's not a bad thing though :)

Just an update...

Not a whole lot going on. I'm alive, Midterms are over. I failed all my classes. End of story. lol just kidding.

Life has been a bit better since my last post, can't complain. Ok, I could complain but that wouldn't do any good now would it?

I sold my first thing on Ebay for the school. Still waiting for the payment. It was an HP Procurve 24 Port Switch. The funny part is I sold it for 99 cents haha. Fortunately I upped the weight on the box that I'm shipping it in when I did the calculated shipping on Ebay. So I should make a little more than that. Half of the profit goes to the school, and half of it goes to me. So that's good. I have some other things I can list, but I'm not sure they'll go for a whole lot.

Anyway, just a little "I'm not dead" post :)

One of THOSE days....

Yup, we all have them, and they come in the package deal of life. But when I ordered my life's value meal, I did NOT order Extra large drama lol

It really wasn't just one thing either, it was a ton of things. I had to read the whole book of John tonight and when I was doing it, people kept playing music, and it was driving Jacob and I up the wall! I did terrible in my gospel of John quiz... which we have a test in tomorrow which I'm not really prepared for. The Yankees lost. The stock market is down. Our economy is falling apart. The sky is falling.... ok ok, life isn't THAT bad.

College World Series!

Zoo day!!!

Woowee. What a weekend. Saturday was a nasty day weather wise, but an "ok" day bus visiting. If you watched my last video you would have seen that I dressed up as tigger for bus visiting. I didn't wear it very long because of the rain, but here it is:

So, Saturday went well, I had an amp, so that kept me up for most of the day :)

Nothing out of the ordinary happened, that is worth blogging about anyway.

Sunday though, wowzas, woke up around 6:15, went to do bus wake ups at 7, shuttled kids to the bus until church @ 10. Then we went to the zoo. It takes an hour and 20 minutes to get to the zoo from here, so it's a long ride with 70 kids. I was given 14 kids + 1 Adult to watch over while we were at the zoo. It went rather well. No one was eaten by a lion so that has to be a good thing. On the way was pretty tiring and crazy. I've heard horror stories from my sister and others about "Zoo Day" but it wasn't anything like what I had in mind. It really wasn't a bad day. Tiring, yes, but it's a good tired, if ya know what I mean. So we didn't get back to the church til 4:30. Praise the Lord the bus didn't break down and we didn't lose any kids. I think that's where most of the horror stories come from anyway.

Everything seems kind of weird here on weekends. It almost seems like I'm at  different place then during the week. I'm not really even thinking about school on weekends I guess. There are some people I see on weekends and some I don't see that much, so that makes a big difference.


Time is a weird thing I guess. It seems like forever ago that I quit my job in NY to come to college. Yet it doesn't seem that I've been here THAT long.


The Yankees lost the AL East division tonight, but we're making the playoffs on the wild card. We play the Twins on October 6th for the first game of the playoffs.


Also on October 6th (oh ya! Did you catch that transitional statement? Extra credit on my next English test! woo! lol) is our college world series! I mentioned it in our video but I'm excited enough about to mention it twice!
I'm really looking forward to it. Who knows how well I will do, I don't hit a softball much. None the less I'm sure it will be enjoyable.


Anyway, (yes, that is my favorite word.) It's about 10:10 PM and I'm tired.


Tomorrow (Monday) I have choir, speech class in the morning. (Just teaching, no speech yet) Chapel, Gospel of John, and New Testament Survey. Monday is pretty much my hardest day, I'd say. Not that it's hard. It's just tiring I guess. I complain too much, don't I? that's what happens when I ramble and I should just end the blog post.

I'm sitting here trying to think of things to type and nothing is coming to me. I'm sure that was evident by the very short sentences. How boring of me.

So this blog post has taken forever to get up. I started it around 2:30 and here it is 6:50. First the pictures wouldn't upload, then the router went down. Thankfully I can save my blog posts as drafts or else I woulda been here a while.

Today was a pretty busy day. We had a vocab quiz in Germany... I mean, in English (some of you should understand that little inside joke) Then I had my first test of my college career (Wow, that sounds so professional... "my college career") in Gospel of John class. It went... ok? I blanked on a lot of things, but remembered some things so that's good. Tomorrow we have the last cross country race. I crossed my name off the list for to show that I wasn't going to run because I thought it was a longer race than the previous races. Come to find out it's the same distance. I would have not crossed my name off the list had I known that. Oh well, I'll have to get my work outs for PE in some other time.

Dr. Voegtlin, Joel, and I went through a bunch of old computer stuff last night and now I have a bunch of things to sell on Ebay for Fairhaven. I've also had some people approach me about selling things on Ebay for them, so that is a blessing.

My first project is due October 7th. Of which I've done very little work on.

I have a speech due on Thursday. It's a "prose" speech. It's basically a speech someone else made. I picked Daniel Webster's "I was born an American, I live an American, I shall die an American" Speech. Should be lots of fun. weeeeeee....

Anywho, I'm going to work on that speech and start one of my Ebay things tonight.

I hope everyone is doing well at home. I know a lot of you that are praying for me and I really need it and appreciate it very much. Please don't stop. If you do I may just stay here the rest of my life. Muahahahahah lol, just kidding... Or am I?

I am about to go work on the typing lab teachers computer to get "iTALC" working. It's basically a nifty program for teachers so they can control students computers. The way Joel described it is it replaced a projector.
He doesn't have time to look into why it isn't working so he gave me privileges so I'm allowed to do things on the teachers computer. I believe I know the problem but I'm not sure of the solution at the moment.

Hello out there

Hey guys, haven't posted in a while so I figured I would. Life is grand, I can't complain. Well... I could complain but it wouldn't do any good now would it?

I had a great day on bus visitation with Mr. Schrock. He and I got to talk about some things and I really enjoyed it. The day didn't start out too great, no one was answering their door but we ended on a good note with two possible new families! So that's a blessing.

Tomorrow is "skate day" for my bus route, that should be quite interesting. As far as I know I'm still shuttling so lets hope I don't get lost in Gary :)

I have a speech quiz on Monday and a speech due on Thursday... yuck. It's just my testimony in 3-5 minutes so it shouldn't be that hard.

My first project is due on October 7th so I need to get moving on that. I really have no idea what I'm doing so it should be interesting :)

This is just a bunch of random thoughts put together isn't it? oh well, learn to enjoy it haha

I was planning on running the track tonight but it's 25 minutes until prayer meeting. A few other guys and I (is that proper English? I really don't know) helped move some pews into the new chapel room, so that ate up some of my time.

I think I'll go back to the dorm and call my wonderful, lovely, *add another adjective here* mother :)

Why is it....

That when I don't have time to post on my blog I have something I could post about, but when I have time... I got nothing haha. Well tomorrow we don't have school, cause we don't have classes on Wednesday here. Tomorrow morning I'll be running a 3K for my intramural team tomorrow morning at 7 our time... sounds like fun, eh? no, not really. We should do baseball for intramural's... Who's with me?! ok, probably no one haha.

I'm also going bus visiting in Gary with my bus captain tomorrow afternoon so that should be fun.

Oh ya, that whole school work thing too. ya.... about that... haha, it's going "iight" I guess. I had probably my worst quiz yet in Gospel of John. I feel I did pretty well in English today so that's good.

I do believe the snack shop is closing so I must be going. See ya'll lata

First day of fall push / Tour of my room

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo, how's everybody doing? I'm sick, so that's no fun. Anyway, We had the first day of fall push yesterday. I had Fair day. In which I ran a booth were little kids had to throw a Frisbee through a hole to win a prize. It was alot of fun but very tiring at the same time. I started "shuttling" kids to and from the bus, in which I only didn't know where I was going one time haha. I had a map so that helped. Once I learn the route it will get easier I'm sure. We have skate day next week so we shall see how that goes. Not a whole lot going on otherwise. We had our first official "Monday" of classes today, since last weeks Monday classes were on Wednesday cause of the holiday. 

It was Kathi's birthday yesterday so if you read this make sure to wish her a happy belated birthday :)

As I said before a bunch of bus routes had fair day yesterday. Jacob had to dress up as a clown for bus visiting on Saturday haha:
